NAVI MUMBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT :
The process for selection of strategic partner will start by January 2012. CIDCO MD Tanaji Satre Said : “CIDCO, with the approval of Government of Maharashtra, will commence the advance land development.It will help optimize the time involved in construction of airport so as to enable airport construction to begin by 2012. Soon, Request For Quotation documents will be floated globally to attract internationally-reputed organizations to develop the NMIA project to a world class standard and to commence the operation of Phase-I of NMIA by 2015.”

NAVI MUMBAI METRO, DEVELOPMENT OF VIADUCT AND SEGMENT INSTALLATIONS :
The metro rail project of Navi Mumbai is on target and CIDCO is confident of completing it by June 2013. The services are expected to begin by May 2014, once all the systems are in place. Several aspects of the project are expected to be taken up or will be completed in 2012. The metro line in the first phase will be laid between Belapur and Pendhar.The Metro railway project has been divided into 4 parts i.e. viaduct, stations, depot and systems. In the first stage work is underway for construction of viaducts, which are expected to be completed in 2012.

EXHIBITION CENTRE, VASHI :
By April 2012, the city will have the first of its kind exhibition and business centre in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The project is being developed by CIDCO at Sector 30A of Vashi, next to Sion-Panvel Expressway. CIDCO public relations officer Mohan Ninawe said : “Most of the RCC work, work on the business hall and structural work has been completed. Finishing work has commenced and the auditorium should be ready soon for the project to be completely ready by April 2012.”

GOLF COURSE, KHARGHAR :
CIDCO is developing a signature golf course of international standards in Kharghar. Located at Sector 22 of Kharghar, the proposed golf course will be spread over an area of 103 hectares approximately.
Conceptualised as a 18-hole golf course, the project shall include a clubhouse, five-star hotel, golf academy and high-class residential developments on peripheral area. The chosen site has an idyllic setting with the Pandav waterfalls as backdrop and overview of the 80 ha Central Park. Ninawe said : “At present, the first phase i.e. 11 of the 18 holes are ready. There is a possibility that the golf course will be launched in the mid of 2012.”

CENTRAL PARK, KHARGHAR, PHASE 1 OPEN :
The wait for a tourist spot in the city is finally getting over. The first phase of Central Park, the ambitious project of CIDCO is nearing completion and should be ready by the mid 2012.
Being developed rapidly as a recreational space of the highest order, the Central Park is spread over an area of 80 hectares and encompasses Sectors 23, 24 and 25 of the scenic Kharghar node. The Central Park will be a modern park synthesizing the concepts of the famous Hyde Park of London and the Central Park of New York. The Park will host a number of recreational facilities for the visitors.

NEW HOUSING SCHEME :
The CIDCO board, at its meeting on September 8, 2011, took decisions on housing scheme for Economic Weaker Sections (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG) sections at various locations of Navi Mumbai. It has also approved housing scheme for Middle Income Group (MIG) and Higher Income Group (HIG) at Sector-36, Kharghar. The CIDCO board has taken a decision regarding mega housing project of 12,000 tenements to be constructed by CIDCO. It is undertaking construction project of 1118 tenements with 100 shops/offices for MIG and HIG sections at Kharghar. There will also be 7,566 tenements for EWS and LIG sections at Ghansoli, Vashi, Kharghar, Taloja-Panchand. Ninawe said : “The MIG and HIG schemes should be launched in the mid of 2012. The LIG and EWS schemes will follow.”
